HEY WASOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just wanted to say thanks for joining. I am soooo excited about this page. Anyhow, many people do not realize what it takes to be a successful writer, to really get your work noticed and to make an impact on the world. One of the key ingredients is to be a GOOD writer. So, in the effort to make us good writers I thought I would throw out a few research tools:
The I Ching for Writers, author Sarah Sloane
On Writing, Stephen King (really this is a great book)
On Writing Well, William Zinser
Each book offers some great hints on form, and voice, and well, just how to write.
However, one of the funnest ways to get your writing muscle moving is to read. Read really wonderful novels and short stories.
For classics I like:
Light in August
The Grass Harp
All the Kings Men
Ballad of the Sad Cafe
Deep Step Come Shinning
The Skin I'm In
Wise Blood
Poetry by Gwendolyn Brooks
Shorts by Poe
The list goes on and on, but you get the point, reading helps with writing and visa-versa. Hope you are all enjoying your week!!!!!!!!!
Happy Writing!

This group is here to connect writers of all flavors and genres to one another. This is just a place to gather, hang and share. If you have information that will help your fellow writer please provide it. If you need information, please talk to another group member. Most of all, this is just here to help other writers on VIRB find one another.
