Warner Home Entertainment has announced it will bring Darren Aronofsky's 'The Fountain' to Blu-ray and HD DVD on May 15, day-and-date with the standard-def DVD release. A major box office disappointment that grossed less than $10 million for the studio, the time travel romance will make its home video debut a full six months after its controversial theatrical release. However, the film has won over a loyal cult following, and will likely find a more appreciable audience on disc. Warner will offer identical specs for the Blu-ray and HD DVD versions, including a 1080p/VC-1 transfer and Dolby 5.1 surround tracks (both at 640kbps). Extras include only "Inside The Fountain: Death and Rebirth," a six-part featurette gallery exploring the movie's various periods and setting, and the theatrical trailer.
