This is basically a place for wannabe art collectors who lack ample cash to collect art. It is also a place for artists to meet one another and give each other back-rubs and well-lubricated ego strokes.
If you find a visual artist that you're fond of, on virb, just look for 'em here. Assuming you're both "sketchy crowd" members, you can swap art. It's that simple.
And the rules are almost just as simple:
Once you find an artist that you like, write them a letter - a real one. Send them a nice, little note, with a sketch/drawing/artistic whatever of your own and a SASE to your artist of choice. In return for your art, you will receive some of theirs, sent right to your doorstep, in the envelope you sent them!
These works don't have to be sketches. They can be anything, as long as - for fairness' sake - it can be sent via standard postage.
If you join, simply leave a comment, bearing your mailing address. If you're uncomfortable leaving your mailing address for all to see, simply say something like "contact me, through my profile for shipping info."
If a potential "art swapper" should run into an artist who leaves such a message, it would behoove you to leave a comment reply, under their SKETCHY CROWD group comment, to verify that you're a member of the group and not some random Virbite looking to get a signed sketch, or something like that, for nothing.
This is important, because all art is encouraged to be one of a kind. No rip offs of other people's work and no re-hashes of your own stuff.
And, oh, by the way, I'd hate to exclude photographers. So, to any shutterbugs, out there, don't feel intimidated by the word "sketch". This is for you, too. Any art that will fit in a flat envelope. Hell, I'd love to include sculptors, too, but that'd just get out of hand - no pun intended.

Hopefully this will be a nice way for artists to get to know each other and fans of artists to collect a cool, one of a kind micro-piece, in return for a little note and a stick figure.
