Can't say I have any phobias or fears, I love spiders and bugs are cool.. height no problem... close spaces? I laugh at their face.. er.. space.. or lack of.. whatever.

Even death doesn't really scare me, to be perfectly honest..

Don't get me wrong, I'm not suicidal or anything.. (well not most of the time) I just have no problem with it.

I don't really have any fobias or fears either...but I'm not a fan of death.

It's odd, when I was a strappin' young 16-year-old, I don't think I had any fear of death either; however, as I've aged and have gotten married and have a family, I fear it more. Perhaps fear is not the correct word, but I dread it more as there are people that love (I hope) and depend on me to be there for them. It doesn't help matters that I recently lost my only remaining parent and I now have a taste of what it is like to be parentless and I don't want my kids to experience this any time soon. The oly advantage for death that I can even think of is that (if one believes in some for of the afterlife) I will hopefully be reunited with my ancestors...especially my parents.

I agree with you. Before kids, I was invincible. Now I don't take nearly as many risks as I used to.

Same here...I've slowed down a bit too since my son was born.

I think it's only natural.

Yea, I suppose the bigger the network of dependence around you is, the more consequences there'd be

Some of these sound feasible and I have heard of some (haven't been through the entire list, obviously) - but I suspect some are made up - 'bogyphobia' - fear of bogeys or the bogeyman??? really?

I know, it's funny, I don't mean to make fun of phobias ,but that one did make me snicker.

Bugs. We get theses awful looking crickets during the summer that invade our house. Ugh! They are much better this year than last. I'm going to look for a photo of these suckers because to me it looks like a cross between a cricket and spider. Man, can they jump! Hold on...

ew!

Ew...I'm scared of that pic!

Growing up in California I never really had to worry about bugs...then I went to Georgia in 2004 and I saw the most humongous bugs in my life. Those big'ns give me the creeps!

About an inch give or take...but they're hideous. They cling to things. So, when I'm in the basement doing the wash, they might jump out of me as I lift the clothes to put into the wash. Then they make their way upstairs. At one point, The Warden was killing 3 or 4 before I even woke up in the morning. There's nothing like getting out of bed and heading down the hallway, and it's just you and one of them. You have to make your first hit count because they can jump away and crawl into small spaces. It freaks me out, but I just have to suck it up and put on my game face. However, I must admit, right before we came here, I saw one at the bottom of the steps and just ran back upstairs. I know....loser!

That's a mole cricket, we have them here as well. They like damp, dank places and come up through drains and floor vents.
I know that's not a spider, but they remind me of them.
I don't exactly fear spiders, except when I got bit by a brown recluse, so I almost always smush spiders, and if I miss one after taking a swing at it, and didn't see where it landed, I usually panic. *l*

Thanks for joining - I am unfortunately off to bed very shortly (gone midnight here - I'm not scared of the dark but I am scared of not having enough sleep right now).
Invite your friends and I'll check in the morning how it's going. I need to feed my group-creation addiction every once in a while, you know that!

I have issues with locks and making sure that things are turned off. I unfortunately have to check these things quite a few times before I can leave the house. I am still working on my issues.

You and my baby's momma would get along quiet well. She did that enough to make me concerned about it, too!

You've gotten much better at knowing something is turned off or locked...I have to wait in the car much shorter time now than I used to. :-)
