Google's my homepage also, I also have gmail, the desktop gadgets, I would be lost without Google. Ok, not really but I do like it lots.

I'm about a third of the way through "The Google Story" by David Vise. It's a great read for anyone interested in learning how Google went from "PageRank" to the hottest business, media and technology success of our time.

I like it when special days or holidays occur and they mess with their logo. It is rather festive. Oh and I use Google at least once a day for various searches.

Constantly - username is the same as my Virb name, without the space in the middle and no caps.

I love it and it's the only messenger that I use but the main problem is that about 75% people that I've met online so far don't like GTalk because it isn't smiley-rich. I wonder how many people are out there who judge a messenger by flashy smileys and not by its cool features (e.g. I don't know about any other messenger that can be embeded in a web page).

Do we really need spam here? This seems really tacky.

can we report people who violate the terms of service?

Bripe Klmun says:

I'm sure we can, but I wonder if it's a real TOS violation. I mean, look at all the friggin' "bands" running around doing practically the same thing. His profile sure did look suspiciously like a spammer profile, though...

I guess it'd be up to Terence to delete the comment, as it is his group.

We're doing the Firefox XUL first...anyone want to volunteer for Safari?

Terence says:

Have you ever wondered how many searches you have done over the past week or month? Or your friends?

We are thinking of doing a social network around users of google.com and search.yahoo.com. We would build a firefox extension and keep track of your searches, ranking of each link clicked, etc. There are all sorts of cool possibilities.

Thoughts?

Oh, that'd be cool.

A way to have it be SIMBL for Safari would be nice too.

Reject_False_Idols says:

that would be kinda weird tho. i don't think i want you guys to know what i'm searching. idk.

Seconding the SIMBL plugin bundle thingy idea. :)

Add a privacy option though (or incorporate it into Private Browsing). Or a delayed submit? Off by default? Hmm ...

Terence says:

Your search keywords would have 4 settings:
1) viewable only by you
2) shared between friends
3) public
4) not submitted

The default would be set to not submitted for strict privacy.

Terence says:

Yeah, SIMBL would be great for Safari. Hmmm....Safari or Firefox first?

Joe says:

Google already keeps track of every search made and number of clicks per link.

Bripe Klmun says:

Yeah - I have to say that I'm not interested in this. It seems like there are enough of the same sorts of things already out there.
