Thanks for the invite Martin :)
Something that's been brought to my attention lately (but largely ignored by me) is how we need to spend some time alone with God, in solitude, cutting off any distraction, in prayer, studying the word, meditating on the word, letting it all sink in. I've just been watching the video Noise by Rob Bell, and it hit me again. This is as much for me as it is for others, as I realise lately (as usual) I've been spending hardly any time with God on my own. It's pretty difficult for me to power down the laptop and concentrate for 15 minutes, but I realise how important it is to make sure that busyness and activity and noise don't flood our lives to the point of pushing out our time with God.
One of the last things the video is the line "Does my schedule, my time, my life look like that of a person who wants to hear God's voice?"
If I'm honest I'd say mine doesn't.
Let's press on.
