sunnnny says:

all three shows I went to were fantastic : )
However, I'm currently experiencing Post-Ryan Depression, which is not fantastic at all.

3 shows??? Im jealous! ;) I wish he would make it to Texas more often. Oh awesome... I just checked the website, looks like he's coming to Dallas in October! He hasn't come to this area in a couple years.

Ryan and The Cardinals have done a few live studio videos for some tracks from Easy Tiger.
Everybody Knows and Magnolia Mountain are here on amazon.com. And Halloweenhead and Off Broadway are here from itunes. There's a massive jam in the middle of MM where the video gets all trippy! And the video for Halloweenhead is....weird. I wish it was the band dancing instead of those old people though, that would've been hilarious, Ok Go-style!

Anyone else see the performance on the Henry Rollins show? "What Sin Replaces Love" has been around for so many years, I love the fact that Ryan keeps going back to his old songs to try and "revamp" them. I'm looking forward to hearing "Off Broadway" on the new album, if it's anything like the version on Suicide Handbook I'm gonna be one very happy girl.

Sean :: A Reminder says:

yeah. that performance of what sin was pretty damn good. did you see the performance of Goodnight Rose on the Rollins site? They turned that one into a 7 minute jam too.

sunnnny says:

yeah it was awesome - the Cards sure like to jam, but it'll be interesting to hear what it sounds like on the record. I also liked their little barber-shop-quartet-style harmonising "henry rollins shooow" haha

Kevin Tucker [Creative] says:

ok, a little overstated there :) i actually laughed pretty hard at some of the dj reggie stuff, so it was worth one listen anyway. but most of that was for the very very hardcore fans only, if anyone. but honestly, my respect for him dropped a couple points after all that... granted it's still pretty darn high :)

laurel% says:

ha understood. i wouldn't necessarily consider myself a hardcore fan, but i am pretty obsessed ha. it's hard for my respect to drop for him because i do think he is a very talented musician.. even if he does have some pretty weird songs haha. :]

have a wonderful day! :D

Anybody else exhausted by Ryan messing around... wishing he would take a year and just make one realllly great album instead of a bunch of garbage with a few good points?

is that a ref to the last the proper albums? i would say 29 is one of his best. jacksonville ain't too far behind.

Kevin Tucker [Creative] says:

no.... his '05 albums were all brilliant. just talkin' about the .com stuff. werewolph, dj reggie, etc. some of the sad dracula and warren peace stuff was pretty good.... i think there were 4 songs out of all of that that i would listen to again.

posted Mar 18

Chris Flew says:

i wouldn't worry about that stuff...he's just getting it out his system, it's a part of him. but obviously not the commercial part he wants people to see as ryan adams. but all prolific artists do that kind of thing - he just made it public

Justin Reynolds says:

He can be a bit goofy - though every album grows on me with time to the point where I love them all. Nothing will beat Whiskeytown though, anyone else agree? I guess there's just something about an artist's first statement, or at least the first one you hear as I did with Stranger's Almanac.
