We Love Oatmeal

It's alright, everyone has had a crush on the quaker oats man at one point in time

oatmeal is the ramen of the morning hours. not only is it a cheap, quick breakfast, but it's also proven that daily consumption of a bowl of oatmeal can lower blood cholesterol. not that we care, we'd eat it anyway.

even though i love the instant maple & brown sugar for convenience, my hands-down favorite is mccann's irish oats. they take a bit longer, but are worth it. a totally different flavor and texture than instant oats..this is the stuff they were talking about when they were writing about porridge in "goldilocks and the three bears."

Well, I made some for breakfast just earlier, so...I guess I'm OK where I am. I mix the cinnamon and sugar right in the pot -- I don't pour it into the bowl first, unlike some people I know. That's just the way I roll.

that's a great way to get the flavor of the cinnamon infused into the oats even more. good idea!
