DirecTV HD Tivo (hope I never have to give it up to get their crapfest DVR) & Series 2 80gb w/DVD Humax Tivo. I really, really, really love my Tivo(s). Has anybody else tried out Amazon Unbox with their Tivo? I wasn't expecting much but it turned out to be a good experience. I'd rent again, not sure if I'd ever buy. They just need to expand the choices quite a bit.

I believe just yesterday I read that some retailers have the Series 3 for under $500 now. Can't remember which retailer(s) or where I read it though. In other great news, DirecTV is being sold by Rupert to a new owner that apparently has no conflicting DVR company of their own...so there is hope that Series 3 Tivo will make it to DirecTV. Crosses fingers. Of course with my Apple TV and fewer and fewer shows that I watch, my Tivo habit may just retire itself.

So I'm wondering how much longer I'm gonna have to wait for the Series 3 to have a reasonable price (something under $500) so I can finally have my HD TiVo. Anyone catch a good deal out there?
