ProVIRB: A new Virb community site is launching soon!
Hi all,
Just thought you'd like to know about ProVIRB - a new Virb community site some friends and I are working on.
We're hoping ProVIRB will be the number one place to go for Virb themes, modules and tutes. We've got some great features in the works (like extensive jQuery action) which we're sure you'll dig.
So if you're interested, jump on the mailing list so we can keep you posted on our launch date (feel free to Digg us while you're there ;) ).
After signing up, head to our Virb profile and add us to your friends list. As the site progresses we'll be keeping our friends up-to-date via our home on Virb. We'll also be launching a private beta, and our first 500 friends will be invited to help us out with it (we're so Web 2.0)!
Cheers!

If it weren't for the fact that Myspace is my only way to keep in touch with certain out-of-town/country friends, I'd totally ditch it. But unfortunately, most of those friends think that MySpace is the best thing since sliced bread and girl scout cookies (thin mints...mmmm) and aren't likely to switch to a promising new social network any time soon. These are also the friends that still think the internet is "the little blue 'e' on my desktop", so I don't foresee them understanding why MySpace sucks.
But I'm still gonna try...

yup, type in virb on the myspace search and every one of them will say that they are switching over.

I'm all about Firefox.
What I'm finding is that Virb seems to be more appealing to the geek (not necessarily nerd, mind you) crowd than to the masses.
Do you guys think that holds true for the most part?

I saw the group called "When I was young, Pluto was a planet," and my first thought was "that's awesome" and I almost joined right away, but then I saw that it's an imported facebook group, and I kinda feel like I should not join just on principle, or something.

I dunno... its one of 2 things
you stand up for pluto or you stand up for virb
both are pretty important

I actually killed my MySpazz account last year. Now... in a way, i regret it because I had a lot of bands that I'm now wishing I could get to start a profile here on virb.
We need people who will go and bug the shit out of bands to come make a profile. I mean... like *multiple* people commenting on the same bands.
Although... some of them are on Pure Volume. Anyone know if virb is actively trying to recruit bands from their sister site?
