Just a quick live recommendation. Went and saw Christopher Willits play the other night and it was excellent. Laptop and guitar muck about, but quite rhythmic and chunky rather than droney, soft Kranky records type business. Well, there were washy moments, but there were a lot of dynamics. Some of the lush bits were kind of shoegazer styles, sudden bits reminiscent of Slowdive, then back into sample-and-hold guitar crackles. Ended with the almost-predictable crescendo of noise, still sounded pretty different from anything I've heard.
