For the conclusion of this years Online Machinima Film Festival in May, we are going to hold an awards ceremony in a theatre in Second Life. It will be similar to the screening of the "Mackies" in Second Life last November, but of course with the awards happening "online" as well. As a kind of introduction to this event we are also holding a "Cocktail Party" on Saturday 24th March to which you are all invited! For more details of the party and the awards ceremony please visit this thread at mprem:

I have a second life account, but not long after I started playing that, my graphics card decided to blow up, literally, so now I do not play anything that requires a graphics card, hope to have one soon, I really hope :(

In case anyone hasn't tried SL, you can get a basic account for free if you sign up, so don't let that put you off! Hathead's island, where the events are being held is very impressive, it's modelled on the actual Toronto Tower. It should be a lot of fun if the Machinima Film Festival broadcast inside SL (while being filmed live in NY) is anything to go by. If anyone needs any help or has any questions about it, feel free to send me a pm.

I see Final Fantasy is now on the list, I can smile now :) so what do you actually do in these groups anyways, I joined a couple on myspace but no one really participated in them much, so I search for purpose, do we talk about movies, announce movies, post movies, give advice, just here to be here, enlighten me, what are these groups suppose to do, yes I am always full of direct questions :p

Dixie, I don't think there is much to do at the moment aside from using groups as a way to meet people with similar interests and chat, but I read that expanded features for groups is coming soon :)

Yes Nova has brought me into yet another group but I do know there are many great movie creators, and the people I know here are no exceptions, we all have one thing in common, we love Machinima, and especially sims2 but me well I love Final Fantasy as well which I don't see on the list, so I may go cry a little now, :p J/K glad to be here :D

Thanks for the invite, Darth! I've also invited several friends from Sims99.com, a very large (nearly 10,000 members) machinima community on the web! I had thought about starting a machinima group myself, but since only a few of my friends have migrated from myspace, I thought I'd hold off. But now that Michelle has already done it, we can just be one big happy family right here! :)
So greetings, all!
