Thanks for the invite to the group. I will post a couple of mine if I can find them - just sketches. I never knew of Jung's perspective on Mandalas.

This group is for anyone that 's interested in mandalas...The word "mandala" is actually a Sanscrit word that means "(magic) circle". mandalas are very SPIRITUAL AND SYMBOLIC...Most of the information that I have about mandalas comes from CARL JUNG and his COLLECTED WORKS - fascinating reading if you're that way inclined...Anyway, I began spontaneously manifesting mandalas at the early age of 5, but I didn't really "do" mandalas until I was in my 20s. At that time I went through a "mandala phase" where I constantly created them. I felt so compelled to make mandalas that I thought it was going to be my calling in life. It turned out to be part of the process of my inner development - the process of becoming a whole person that Jung calls "INDIVIDUATION". According to Jung, spontaneous manifestation of a mandala is a counter-balancing mechanism of the psyche that occurs when a person becomes too lop-sided, unbalanced or too neurotic - it brings a person back to their CENTER and moves them forward toward WHOLENESS...the mandala is a healing tool that has been used throughout the history of man in all cultures either by means of CREATING THE MANDALA itself or by CONTEMPLATION / MEDITATION on it's CENTER...The reason that we are so attracted to the mandala is because it is an archetypal symbol that is embedded in our psyche. The mandala is primordial - it has always been a part of us and it represents our basic urge to be WHOLE - to connect MIND, BODY and SOUL...
the purpose of this group is two-fold: as a member you are welcome to post your own mandala art (whether you consider it to be therapy or artwork) and you can also be a member for the sole pupose of meditation, contemplation and personal centering...I will include inspirational quotes and instructional information (if anyone is interested)...
Please limit mandala posts to one per day :-D
