Why not The Cancer City? Because I hate that name. It's like when anarchists call it "McCapitalism." It lacks any creativity, and it has this smug little self-satisfied grin on its face, as if to say, "Look at how marvelously clever I am!" Plus, it's derogatory to the fine history of a wonderful city. Sure, we doled out cancer by volume, but you know what? The aqueduct in Rome was lined with lead. Do we ever say, "That shitty aqueduct! What a failure of urban planning!" ??
No, we don't.
If that doesn't make complete and utter sense to you, I don't know what will, but all I can say is that you should have made your own beautiful and fun to visit Winston-Salem group.
