Anyone ever been to the Ram?? they brew their own beer and they have an ipa called Big red....it tastes a little like grapefruit.
If you get a chance, I highly reccomend Racer 5 IPA from Bear Republic Brewery. It's full of Cascade hops, a little sweet, a little malty, and goes down like water on a hot day.

I recently had a chance to go to Slows Bar-B-Q here in Detroit with a couple of friends and they have a pretty impressive beer list which I scouted out before going. When we arrived, one of my friends had option paralysis and couldn't decide what beer he wanted or if he even wanted anything. I insisted on buying him a bottle (his first) of Chimay Blue for his birthday and he was pleased. Considering that he drove, I ended up having to help out with the bottle. Boo hoo. My other friend, who asked for a Blue Moon, declined any other beer when she was informed that they didn't carry that. I suggested Lindeman's Framboise with the selling point that "you could get an eight-year-old drunk on it, it's that good" and she happily accepted. She called me the next day to get the name of the beer so she could pick up another bottle. So, using my somewhat limited range of beers, I got to spread the beer snob gospel. Also, PatrickD, as I type, I'm enjoying an Edmund Fitzgerald, on your recommendation. It just appeared at my grocer's this evening. Excellent choice. Very very nice.
If anyone happens to visit Edingburgh, Scotland, I highly recommend, The World's End Pub found on the Royal Mile. I recently was there and I haven't been able to bring myself to try a Guinness on Tap since as I'm afraid it won't be the same. The Extra Cold Guinness, ah.....

This is a place for talking about beer. If you love beer and want to share your discoveries, or if you're here looking for some new ones, this is a welcoming place. Pull up a chair, and pour yourself a pint.
