Hi, I'm so glad to have found this group! Any recommendations on white burgundies? I can't remember what I drank when I had it but I thought I'd died and gone to heaven....

Can anyone recommend a nice, dry, inexpensive Rose? I've found some nice ones of late and I'd like to stay on the winning streak.

One of my favorite Rose's is from Europe and is called Oeil de Perdrix. It's a fantastic summer wine, and comes from Switzerland of all places (one of the few Swiss Wines I enjoy). It's an inexpensive Rose made from Pinot Noir grapes and usually costs less than $15 per bottle.
If buying directly from a wine producer, you can expect prices as low as $6. But at Michelin-Star Restaurants, I've paid as much as $35 a bottle.
Anyway, great stuff. It's good with Fish, Chicken, and Cheese.

Ok, I seriously need to get off the Spanish Wine thing I've got going on. But I hate to say it, I can't get enough.
Anyway, I'm normally dead against stocking my Wine Cellar with grocery store wine, but the local supermarket keeps a fresh supply of this stuff, and every time I walk by it, I pick up a bottle.

My wife and I just returned from Barcelona over the weekend and while there, we tried two very excellent wines.
The first is Roda Reserva 2002. It's a Rioja wine. It's a dark red wine with a strong oak taste with a fruity after-taste and hints of chocolate. One of the best Rioja's I've had to date. The alcohol content is 13.5%.

The next is an Alion Cosecha 2003. The alcohol conetent is 14.5%. It's a strong wine with a bold oak flavor. It has a dry finish, but is very smooth tasting. It is less fruity than the Roda Reserva, but was excellent nonetheless.

ACK!!! Anyone hear about this???
Ladybugs may be cute, but watch out when they get near wine from PhysOrg.com
Ladybugs may look pretty but they also have a dark side. In some places, the polka-dotted insects have become a nuisance by invading homes and crops, including some vineyards. To make matters worse, the bugs produce a foul-smelling liquid that, besides irritating homeowners, can be inadvertently processed along with grapes and taint the aroma and flavor of wine.

They finally arrived...of all places to get wine (normally we go directly to the wine producer)...but an AIRLINES?!?!? Swiss Airlines, which is owned by Luhftansa, sells wines to it's Miles & More members. I thought it was a joke that an airlines would sell wine...but I ordered a box of 12 bottles late last year and the wine was great!
I ordered 2 more boxes of 12 (two different wine series) of various wines and they just arrived this morning.
