For me it's gotta be, hands down, The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham. (S05E07)
The scene where Ben talked Locke out of suicide, only to murder him a few minutes later... Damn. Has to be one of my top, all-time fave Lost scenes.
Locke's tortured soul and his persistence to find purpose have always intrigued me (and tugged at the heart strings), so I loved this episode the first time around....
Now, at the end of the season, to learn that Locke *really* is dead. Well... that only made me love "The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham" even more.

I'm sure this is going to be a popular response, but the season finale was my favorite. Loved how they wove the black and white motifs from the first season back into the series. The twist at the end was the best yet.

I have to say, it's probably the finale for me too.
But the Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham was absolutely amazing as well. Overall, season 5 was the the best LOST season yet, as far as i'm concernced.
Definitely the best show ever!

I don't think any will EVER top season 1 for me, but 5 is definitely up there in second place.

I loved the season but feel like they rushed through it a bit. I guess the writers strikes and network pressure might account for some of that. When I watch season 1 back through, I just feel like they had more time to explore the characters and situations.

Gotta agree with a previous poster. When Ben kills John Lock I was just like OMG!!! Wasn't surprised though, it IS Ben after all!!

I don't know whether or not I can choose a favorite episode from this season. Quite frankly, I thought all of them were pretty phenomenal.
However, if I had to choose a favorite scene, I would probably pick the scene where we find out that Hurley is writing out the Star Wars Trilogy so that he's the creator, haha. What a genius idea!

hard to choose one, so many great esps, a scene which sticks out for me, is when they want to show richard whats in the box.

The fact that Locke is actually dead and that the fake Locke is just the incarnation of don't know who (just watched in a ep lays on the beach) that wants to kill Jacob, and then was Linus do that, uhm, just made me crazy.
Waiting the 6th season.
