As Pixar continues to churn out ridiculously good movie after ridiculously good movie, you almost start wondering when—if ever—they are gonna misfire. Even more difficult is figuring out which Pixar films are your favorite, but I'm gonna give it a stab. 1. Up An exquisite gem of a movie...there really aren't enough superlatives for this. I laughed, I cried. It was one of the most rewarding movie experiences I can remember. I almost felt as if I should thank someone on the way out for letting me have the privilege of watching it. 2. Monsters, Inc. While Up is my favorite Pixar package, Monsters Inc. is still my favorite storyline and Mike Wazowski is probably my favorite Pixar character. 3. Ratatouille That last review by Anton Ego was an absolutely gorgeous bit of writing and pretty much made the movie for me. 4. Finding Nemo What a wonderful story and some of the finest animation ever on screen. 5. Toy Story 2 I'm not a big fan of sequels and have really enjoyed that Pixar steers clear of them. Toy Story 2 has all the ingredients every good sequel needs. It pains me not to include The Incredibles or Wall•E here, but so be it. Out of the whole group, I think Cars was my least favorite, although I really enjoyed Guido, a favorite character of mine. So, how 'bout you—what's your list look like?

An exploration on old age and loneliness by Lou Romano, a member of the Pixar art department and the voice of Alfredo Linguini in Ratatouille.
"The idea was to keep Carl isolated within the frame and suggest his loss with composition and light. The film deals a lot with loss and letting go of the past."
Check out loads more sketches, drawings, light tests, etc. he did for Pixar's Up in a gloriously detailed post on his blog.
