looking up from my eye It burns the sky
i cannot see for all things we need
roof overhead, the bread, some meds and beds
circuit needs connected and/or words of the still unsaid
tongue tied talkers toe the line
mouths keep moving lips that drip
the half truth leaked repeated lies
into ear canals where the sleeper slides to hide
save your breath and just listen up
half emptied or half filled the cup?
only those who have too much can ask the words
scraps from table the un-well-fare state - a dream deferred
do the math and carry the one
zero from zero still equals none
program the system and write the code
when it crashes call the army ant android drones to carry the load
species vanish but there aint no rush
while they do the study glaciers turn to slush
maybe some creatures will just thaw out
and feed on humans till they get the gout
after all fair play is turnabout
but we taste so toxic they¹ll have to spit us out
out of work and underpaid logged onto the internet today
to peep unlimited opportunity in an ever expanding industry
get some training learn the ropes lock em up and end their hopes
incarcerate, imprison and detain we can always find someone else to blame
rain drops dripping slipping down my face
making a mess all over the place
raindrops dripping slipping down my face
making a lake in an obvious place
tapping my tongue with a salty taste
clouds are leaking rain like thinner
burning bush now just a glimmer
prophet voice is always strangled
the real devoured and ghost is mangled
as giants vanish these words drop hollow
corrupted data too hard to swallow
stars are falling sun is dimmer
year by year the rations a little bit slimmer
treat the symptoms the cause we ignore
we need to crunch the numbers some more
by the time we get it figured out
there ll be nothing left to shout about
ocean waves caving in my chest
cracking the eggs and messing the nest
ocean waves caving in my chest
drowning while wearing a bulletproof vest
helping the crazy people who can't get dressed
