Hawthorne was a four-piece enduro-rock band from Wheeling, WV.
The band began in 1995 as an acoustic rock band under the name Tastes Like Tobit. After a couple shows the band changed its name to Hawthorne and its sound to an electric-guitar based sound influenced by the early wave of "emo" as well as the passing fad of "grunge."
The band produced two cassette demos which were both recorded on cassette four-track recorders. Further recordings exist in digital format, although they are mostly unfinished. They probably will not be made available to human beings.
Hawthorne finished itself in the year of 1999.
The members of Hawthorne went on to start bands called Killed At Camp, Horns to the Matador, Ultra Big Time, and The Minus Tide.

egress covered "Speed Like Sound", remember? Great song, but I think my favorite may have actually been "Passenger Car Seat". -N
