My name is Dorothy. I'm not a graphic designer...yet, but I'm studying to be one. :] I am an asthmatic and am allergic to dust, pollen and pet dander, but that hasn't stopped me from being a happy pet owner. I have an obsession with the idea of memory and perception, and am a terribly nostalgic person. I like to think that memory is one of the only few things that remain unique to the human experience. Sometimes the idea of growing up scares me a little, and there are times when I feel like the anonymous little boy in James Joyce's "Araby." My favorite herbs are basil and lavender and sometimes my mother scolds me for daydreaming in excess, as I ocassionally tend to stare off into space while doing the dishes or the laundry.
I like:
good conversation, cupcakes, shiny quarters, fortune cookies, yellow birds, warm photocopies, tea and crackers and honey, cold and sleepy afternoons; brushing my teeth, asparagus, clean laundry and bath soap, long naps, June gloom, birthday candles, the weather forecast, celery sticks and cream cheese, Art Nouveau, and yellow birds.
I'm not too fond of:
dirty eyeglasses, getting allergies, excessively warm and humid weather, okra, mind-numbing conversation.
