Hardcore Familia born a decade ago, as an answer to the need to amalgamate artistic and musical interests and deviations, in a place which few alternatives offers to provincial monotony. Their perseverance and abnegation to Hip Hop at first, evolved then into underground, allowed survival and growth of the collective, ranging its own artistic activities from djing to audio-video production, analogical and digital photography, painting, aerography, digital art, industrial design in different fields, handmade print, audio car and installations; all greatly defined by a bleak and “industrial” taste, with great influences from biomechanic art, dark-art, horror, sci-fi but of course from classical art too. Hardcore Familia essence is the incessant countertrend research, through different techniques which join existent elements with new useful connections. New and functional adequately illustrate the creative act substance: a getting over in force rules ( the new ) to introduce a further and shared norm ( the functional ). The two dimensions of the creative process are identifiable, a process which puts together disorder and order, paradox and method. In the drum&bass musical field protagonists are dj Rugeboy (Cristian Ruggero) e Gnogno (Andrea Paganin) followed by Hero! (Davide Martini) as a vj. We have been present at many parties of national weight, local radio programs and for one year on an American web radio program. Meanwhile the organization of d&b appointments goes on in some club around Vicenza, like Fabbrika and Smallville, as many collaborations with international djs and producers. In the photographic field Castadiva (Federica De Col) and Hero! still increase their own landscapes, portraits and snaps made in studio, using both film and digital and collaborating for some project with professional photographer as Angie (Angela Loveday). About design Hero! plans and performs graphics for every use, from logos to placards, to company’s coordinate image, including settings and personalisations of expositive and advertising areas, helped and inspired in addition by his profession as a graphic designer in the fashion sphere for firms of international level, which brought him to deepen his own experience in trends research and development, print techniques, embroidery and woven treatment. Sten (Stefano Pento) is author an developer for most of our projects, 3D designer and audio-video producer; he boasts collaborations with car firms for prototypes creation, with important interior decorators, with singers and companies that rely on him for musical videos and TV commercials. The greatest satisfaction with art comes from its most natural form, which allows the representation of emotions, feelings and impossible visions with Alx (Alex De Zan), who performs different works on each kind of prop, from canvas to installations or sculptures, using every sort of recycled material, painting with brush or spry. While Hero! prevailingly employs aerograph, acrylics and resins on props like canvas or objects of common use, transforming and giving them a decadent and gloomy look. Giossa (Matteo Fontana) deals with techniques and buildings parts of our works, expert in many fields like mechanics, electronics and above all, audio hi-fi development. All this is gathered in different web sites, reachables from www.hardcorefamilia.com. Hero! (Davide Martini) and Hardcore Familia present “dark is the future”. This project started some years ago as a unification of our skills, passions and deviations. "Dark is the Future" represents an abstract and conceptual view of a world set in an indefinite space-time, which finds however many references to a chaotic and fateful development of the same. Most of our works have been created by the concept of the basis of the human-beings tendency, which seems to be self-destruction and involution. We can find it represented within life forms currently known as invertebrate, but we see them evolved and depicted as vertebrate forms, with organs and a human descent bony structure. Employing materials and natural forms completely at variance with artificial, industrial and mechanical. Nature, as such, always appears unpredictably ready towards new and fresh synthesis possibilities, which inevitably take shape, provided that certain circumstances happen. The bio-mechanoid expresses this gloomy vision of the future, showing assimilation between nature and technology, the human conquest of the domination over something still considered wild and incalculable. The insect calls up, conditioned by modern society, the appearance of a disgusting, murky, slimy and subterranean bug, read as well like a synonym of our being in search of evolution and survival, standards-evaders, new freedom seekers who remain behind medias, hidden from commercial channels and sponsored through innovating methods ( to “be” more than 30 seconds, expression without a 160 characters limit ). This project conceptually epitomizes societies influence besides the environment which surrounds and suppresses us, through the symbology of images and sounds. Hope in the advent of a society, and a future totally different from our creations is the message. A better world than that in which we live.
