Hit was formed in an NYU dorm room in December 1989 by Nick Kramer and David Max. One gig was played in said dorm. Eventually, Nick and David were absorbed into NYU/EastVillage Psych band Tadpoles as guitarist and bassist, respectively. After several lineup changes, Tadpoles found a permanent drummer in Adam Boyette to complete the group late in 1996. After several releases and a tour, the Tadpoles came to an end in early 2000... prompting the reformation of Hit. This incarnation was to include original members Nick and David with the addition of Adam into the mix.

In a bedroom on the third floor of 321 East Houston St, Hit began experimenting. A studio was built piece by piece over the next few years. Quosibility was the first release from Hit at 321. A 4-song E.P. limited to 500 copies. Each clear vinyl album was signed and numbered and came with original artwork.

After many shows at places like Joe's Pub and the Knitting Factory, Hit began recording its first full length: See It Majestic

Currently, Hit has moved out of the studio at 321 and relocated to Jersey City where MicroRiot Studios has been operating since early 2005. We're currently recording our next epic, that should be done before we're all wrinkled and gray.
