About
"Hold Fast Hope" is about finding and holding onto hope in the darkest of places. It's about peace, justice, love and grace. It's music that stirs up raw passion, and lyrics that cry out in the name of social responsibility. Hold Fast Hope is a project by Chris Tidd, of Toronto Ontario, Canada and is an attempt at merging emotions, theology and passion, with music. Taking his own personal experiences from having lived in Canada, Australia and the UK, he writes only about what he knows, from the heart, and drawing on the experiences he's had while traveling and living abroad. With songs like "Tell Me I'm Alright", which speaks about The Church's seeming inability to deal with true pain, and loss, and instead subjecting its members to patronizing, 'It will all be ok...' speeches, to the deeply challenging words of "The Life Lost" and "Bleeding World" that deal with the issues of social justice and social responsibility to the deeply personal song "No Regrets, Only Forgiveness" which speaks of a Suffering God's point of view of a broken person in desperate need of grace and forgiveness, Hold Fast Hope indeed tries to find and bring hope into the darkest of places through its music.
Hold Fast Hope is currently working on an EP, so keep an ear out for when the EP will be ready for release. In the meantime have a listen to some fairly rough demos of the new sound with "The Uprising", "A World That Bleeds", "Never Let Go", and "Presence".
