Where have I been?

Well, as you all can see I am not much of a blogger. Who has the time to make time for this stuff? I stay soooo busy I barely have time to breath. I just wanted to say that God is AWSOME!!! My life has been pretty much torn apart over the past two months, from losing a full time job, financial problems, to marriage problems. But, you know? God has been with me every step of the way and He really does love me. The people He places in our lives to help us through the tough times amazes me on a daily basis.

Anyway, Always remember that no matter what is going on in YOUR life He is there to help you through. Just ask.

Returning home

Wow, last week really went faster than I thought it would. My son returned from Panama City, Florida yesterday a changed teenager. He was so excited about his time spent with the youth group from New Spring. You could see it before he ever stepped down off the bus. He was actually glowing from the experience.

All the way home he talked about the things he did. Mostly about his quiet time each day (which he has never accomplished before). He was already reading Bible verses to me on the way home that had meant most to him during that time.

But, the MOST amazing thing happened after we got home. He was eating when he asked my husband and I this question. He said, "Do you know what happened this week?" When we asked him what he replied, "Jesus rocked my world."

Just thinking about my 15 year old son saying that still gives me the chills and brings tears to my eyes. Isn't God GREAT!

Off to the Gauntlet

Can you believe that New Spring Churh has sent over 400 middle and high schoolers Panama City, Florida? Well, it's true. My son is one of the lucky kids who was allowed to go on this adventure. They will be there all this week competing against each other in teams and just rejoicing in the Lord.

Last night looked like a mad house at the church. There were kids running around everywhere. They were so excited that it would take an auction caller to understand what they were saying because they were talking so fast. Then, there were parents like me, awe struck at the actual order that seemed to be in place; but, at the same time sad.

People joked with me last week saying that I was gonna have a great vacation with him being gone for two weeks. (By the way, I forgot to mention that as soon as he gets back from Florida he will be leaving again for Tennesee for another 7 days.) Actually, I will be very lonesome until he is back home. I don't understand parents who look forward to their child being gone.

Also, thank God for all of the adult volunteers who went and chaperoned these kids. I'm not sure exactly how many went. All I know is that they are probably not appreciated enough. If there were adults that cared that much when I was a child my life would have probably been alot different.

THANK YOU, NEW SPRING, FOR CARING ABOUT MY CHILD AS MUCH AS I DO!!!

Getting Started

Today is just like any other day for me. I got up, fed all of my animals, showered, dressed, and came to work. It will probably end the same as all other days too. My life isn't really that interesting to me and probably won't be to you either. But just because it isn't that interesting doesn't mean that it isn't full of everything God has to offer me.

Right now the one thing I am most thankful for is my son, Josh. That is him in the picture with me. He has just been promoted to the 9th grade. We were both holding our breath until the final report card came. He is a wonderful Christian boy who isn't afraid to show is nurturing side.

Recently I had some major surgery and had to stay in the hospital overnight. He refused to leave me. He stayed all night sitting in the chair by my bedside. He was there when I woke up in pain and in tears. He was the one who literally fed me a baked potato around 1:00 AM because I couldn't feed myself. He also helped take care of me when I came home. For the first three weeks I couldn't even comb my own hair, which is a job even when I am well because it is waist length and naturally curly. But he was patient and gentle with me and would not stop until it was done. He would come into my bedroom every morning and make sure I had everything I needed within arms reach before leaving for school. As I am getting well he still fusses at me for lifting things and tells me not to over do myself.

This summer he is getting to go on a couple of much deserved trips. First, he will be going on the Gauntlet. That is the youth trip with our church to Florida for a week. I would like to thank New Spring for making that happen. Without your help he would not have gotten to go. After that he is going to California for about ten days to visit his uncle. I feel that he truly deserves these trips for all of the responsibility he took on during my recovery.

Please keep Josh in your prayers that he comes home safe from these trips and that God will continue to bless him.
