i've got this new screensaver and i can't help showing it off to everyone, so i've taken this picture for you all to enjoy. the background image (the grass and the fish with the tongue out its mouth) is of my own creation. the screensaver (the small fish floating around in the water) is from uselesscreations.com. i would strongly advice everyone to download the free trial version.

this is not an actual screenshot, because it was the screensaver i wished to show you. and you can't take a screenshot of a screensaver, so i had to use my regular camera and try to prevent light from disrupting the image. it was not a total success, as you can still see my camera, if you look really close, but hey, you get the picture.

anyway, what really blows me off is, that the water tilts, when my mac isn't horizontal! imagine that. i get joyful every time, i haven't used it for a while, and this thing pops up - or actually the "aquarium" (my mac, that is) starts off empty and then gradually fills in water. how cool is that?

spring break Mar 25

i've used the most of the holiday helping my 17-year old sister decorate her room, which turned out to be quite fun. two things i'm especially proud of:

a painting i did in one maybe two days. i actually intended to paint it directly on the wall, but my father would not let me (my sister still lives at home, so technically it's his wall). anyway i think i turned out fine (even though i let my sister decide the colors).

and then her curtains. we bought some shower curtains at no cost two months ago and then a cheap curtain rod some days ago. i found a green rubber duck, cut it up and attached it to the rod (in a parody of a trophy from hunting, like a dear). i then made the ropes by braiding some cutup, orange panty hoes. i actually made the mask on the wall to the left too - some years ago though. together it looks like this:

(you might notice the snow outside her window on this picture - the weather of this easter has not been normal. and here i am - inside by the fire eating watermelon and drinking cider, trying to imagine spring.)
