In a place that none of us has ever been, in a time where there was no color-only shades of gray, lived a woman name Elle. To look at Elle was to look at beauty in its purest most raw form. If she had been born into a world of color, her hair would have been made of the richest gold imaginable, her eyes the purest shade of blue the world would ever know, her lips such a bright red that even in complete darkness you could find your way to her.
Alas Elle didn't live in such a world. She only knew the beauties that could be provided in black and white. As beautiful as her world was, Elle wanted more, so every night she climbed to the top of the highest cliff in all the land where she sat down and cried tears only an innocent woman could cry. She didn't know what compelled to her to cry, but the overwhelming emotion of knowing there was something else was too much to keep inside. So she let it out the only way she knew how. Unbeknownst to Elle every night her tears ran down the side of the cliff and collected in a basin hundreds of feet below.
After 17 long years of Elle crying every night, the basin became full of tears. There was room for no more. It was then that something extraordinary occurred. The tears began to slowly drain out of the basin and what was left in their place was a baby boy. But this wasn't just any boy, this boy was made of color. The cries of this newborn baby echoed up the cliff walls until they were heard by Elle...and for the first time for as long as she could remember she didn't feel like crying. Immediately she rushed to find the source of this majestic sound for even though it was a babies cry, it was the most magical thing her ears had ever experienced.
Upon finding the baby boy she couldn't believe her eyes, seeing color for the first time was too much, so she picked up the baby boy and began to cry all over him. Her tears splashed onto his head an penetrated his thoughts. Elle finally held him up to the moonlight, looked deep into his eyes and said-
"I shall call you Brian. Brian Patrick Riley. And your voice will echo through the world just as it has tonight."
