Another release, another new signing - fresh faces and material as always from the Immerse camp, as well as a slamming remix from the original godfathers of dubstep.

Based in Vancouver, long-time carrier of the dubstep virus Kuma approaches the sound in his own unique way, both breaky but subtle, techy but not alien.

Lost in Translation rolls a warm warping sub across tappy live drums as uplifting pads and teases of trumpet soar above, all interspersed with stuttering piano and schizo mutterings.

Dawn Stepped Outside continues with the lush vibes, swooping subs and shimmering synths lifted effortlessly along by the stepper drums until the organ interlude heralds the grinding second bassline.

As if all that wasn't enough for you, Immerse has drafted in the mighty Horsepower Productions on remix duties to deliver their first released work in four years. Drawing on the highly polished sounds of the original, Benny Ill & co add deep atmospherics in the haunting intro before dropping into a heavy roller, squelchy electro bass mixed up with hard-snapping snares and tidy drum shuffles.

Receiving high accolades across the board, making IDJ's 'recommended' release for Jan, this release really sets the standard for 2008.
