Here is a movie some friend and I made and entered into The Insomnia Film Festival at apple.com. You can help us by asking any one you know to go to this link and vote for us. The top 25 are the ones that will be eligible to win. We will need lots of votes because over 1800 short films were submitted. The vote button is on the right side of the page. This stage is all about marketing the film so that we can be judged at the next level.
We were given ten objects at 6 am and had to choose 3 of them to build a story around. Then we had to shoot edit and submit it within 24 hours. The name of the feature is Robin. It is the story of a guy that is learning to let go. We wanted every line to have a double meaning and to tell a story that is based on a preexisting and unrevealed story line. We also decided to demonstrate their distance by never having them in the same shot. The girl is symbolized by the bird that they had bought together and named Darjeeling but he has since renamed the bird Robin. We had three minutes to take him from being unable to give her up to him deciding to let her go. I think it worked well. You may have to watch it twice to get the full story. Feel free to post any thoughts you have on the film.
Thank you for your time on this. It would be a great help to our careers in film if we place well in this event.
Votting ends November 9th. Winners will be announced November 20th.
