As gamers it's inherent in us to turn our back on reality at every given opportunity. Sure, the notion of being able to switch off from depressing daily drudgeries might sound romantic to people unable to liberate themselves from life's grim burdens, but the fact of the matter is that being on a permanent vacation in the Costa del Virtual comes with its own metaphorical ball and chain.
The longer we're away, the worse things are when we return for the unavoidable stint that must be suffered back in the Real World. The bills have piled up. The dirty dishes are a breeding ground of filth. The kids are malnourished. The dog's pissed on the carpet. The global economy's a wreck.
And we address the fallout of our prolonged neglect in the only way we can. By playing some more games and ignoring it all. It's not a choice. It's every dedicated gamers hard-coded prime directive. How can we escape escapism? It's the impossible conundrum that torments our existence.
Preach my brother, preach!

So,
Its been about a week since I've been in hell at A4e because of feeling like hammered shit and I think they have kicked me off, yet again. They usually kick your arse off when you have to many days off without giving them a reason, but I phoned up at the start of the week declaring I was taking some time off because of not being well. But since my A4e 'adviser' just shunned & laughed at my deteriorating health since I started back there, I'm not surprised he kicked me off for being ill. Idiot So, its most likely I'm gonna be without money a couple of weeks if the Job Centre let me sign back on again. If they don't I'm fucked.
Also, I finally scraped together enough money to get a new graphics card, a nice shiny XFX 9800 GT XXX edition (
OctoberOct 16 Thursday Thu 08
So,
Its been a rather long time since I put up anything other then images and videos, so I thought it would be nice and actually write something.
I've been back at A4e for a little over two weeks now, its still an insanely boring place to spend all of your day but at least I got an interview for job placement fairly early this time. The placement is working over at the local James Paget Hospital, I do believe it is just general stuff like Data Input & what have you but at least it gets me out of that damn place. I have the interview today at 2pm, its 12:15pm now so I will be leaving at about 12:45 to make sure I get on the right bus, since it takes about 45-50 minutes to get there. Also I will have to actually find who I am supposed to have the interview with, the folks at A4e were a little vague.
[UPDATE] So the interview went fairly well, they said they would love to stick me in Records doing Data Input/Cleansing, which is after a chat with the interviewer folks is about 800 records a week. All I have to do know is try & figure out the exact dates on where we lived over the past 5 years & the paperwork should take 2 weeks to go through. Then hopefully its 12pm-8pm Monday till Thursday. :)[/UPDATE]
It was rather a short day at A4e today, I was sat at a table with the rest of the fallen and reading the free papers they get, surprisingly they were current, and they started give out 'projects' to people and before I knew it the entire place was empty. All the 'project' is is to answer 4 questions on this printout they gave us & bring it back tomorrow. Since they were doing it to everyone I believe they have some alternative motive, that or the Job Centre has been on their arse again.
My spiffy new specs' arrived, so I've been rocking some Buddy Holly-esque glasses for the past week or so. Well as far as a guy like can rock a pair of spiffy specs.
Also on the topic of new arrivals the new power supply I ordered arrived while I was at A4e. Its such a sexy looking thing, I only bought it because my old one didn't have enough SATA cables for the new 500gb HDD I bought a while back. It cleaned up the inside of my case a little too, with those wonderful detachable cables. Also it gives the inside a little blue glow. Oh, on the down side after I plugged everything in and managed, formatted and assigned a drive letter to the HDD, the fucking thing disappeared off the bios, disk manager & windows explorer, oh yay. So I will be having a play a little later. [UPDATE] The new 500gb HDD is all sorted and working, now its just the task of dragging shit about to sort out my other HDD's. [/UPDATE]
Oh, yes my mother has also gone to Africa for 3 months again, she should be home for Christmas this time. :)
Anyway, that's all from me.
See y'all Later.

After a little trouble & some help from my good friend Jamie I have now said goodbye to World of Warcraft and hello the the brutal world of Age of Conan. Huzahs all around!
Also, I have finally started to paint my flat. Its only taken my a year to start, but I'm only painting my bedroom & computer room. Technically speaking they are the only room-rooms in my flat the other two are kitchen & toilet/shower room, so it shouldn't take me that long to paint them. Oh, I'm painting them a lovely deep brown, just in case you wanted to know. :)

Since I've been getting all these damn migraines and staying in bed a lot, I thought I might as well render something while I'm passed out.
Just something nice and simple to ease my way back into working with Apophysis.
Sergei Bryukhonenko: We have mentioned Soviet scientist Sergei Bryukhonenko before. Another fan of canine experimentation, Bryukhonenko invented the autojektor, a heart and lung machine, and proved its efficacy by attaching it to a severed dog's head, which stayed alive, eating and drinking.
I've seen some rather fucked up stuff on the internet over the years, from people getting their heads & other parts cut off, serious torture videos & shotgun deaths to people happily shitting on each other and I have been unfazed. But after watching the above video, I was a little thrown. If it was an adult human, strangely it wouldn't bother me, but to kids & animals. I find myself troubled.
You can only imagine what was going through that poor dogs mind.
Video from Eight Real-Life Doctor Frankensteins Who Pushed the Boundaries of Life and Death.
Bah, I think I'm coming down with a damn cold. That or I'm getting the Flu because my migraines don't feel the same as they usually do & I feel pretty weak at the moment. Oh joy.
On top of that, last night while watching Revenge Of The Nerds 2, the damn power cut out. It wasn't a damn fuse either, its been happening all over this county apparently. I wouldn't mind as much but I was 2 thirds through the bastard film. So I naturally just went to bed. It was 1am! 1am who the fuck goes to bed that early, its blasphemy! Luckily there wasn't much in the freezer & it only lasted a few hours.
Anyway, that's all I had to say. I'll get back to excreting a copious amount of sticky fluid which wouldn't look out of place on a Troma Production set & singing along to Alkaline Trio. Buh bye.
