Seattle Sounders

Seattle's professional soccer team, the Seattle Sounders, have just won their 4th USL Division One Championship. Seattle beat the Atlanta Silverhawks by a score of 4 - 0 at Seattle's Starfire Sports Complex, Saturday evening.

Seattle has been a dominating team in the USL Division One League for quite a while now. There are rumors that the Sounders will join the MLS next season. Which means bigger crowds and better soccer....just a few HUNDRED miles away.

Congratulations to the Seattle Sounders on their dominating win for the USL Division One League Championship!

I hate this war, I hate our President and I hate all the lying and cheating that is associated with both of those things.

I found some quotes made by Republican Senators during the Clinton Administration about his decision to send troops to Bosnia. I am not old enough to remember why we were in Bosnia, so I won't get into that here. Plus, I'm too lazy to Google it right now. I'm digressing. It is amazing how quickly one's outlook on certain events can change once monetary gain is added in.

My favorite quote:

"If we are going to commit American troops, we must be certain they have a clear mission, an achievable goal and an exit strategy."
-Karen Hughes, speaking on behalf of George W Bush

After reading that quote, please oh please tell me why the fetch we are in Iraq?

Gainful Employment

I am finally a contributing member of society. Well, if you go by a certain Web Development Advisor's standards, I'm still not contributing as I am classified as a DINK household, which in said Advisor's eyes, not a contributing household. I'm getting off topic.

Friday I was offered the Web Master position at the Lewiston Morning Tribune, which I gladly accepted. I start Monday. I'll be knee deep in just about every aspect of the Tribune's website, the Moscow Daily News' website and a classified listings website entitled Northwest Market.

I'm truly excited for the opportunity to work with a company that sees the potential a website can add to one's business. You may find it hard to believe, but jobs for us internet professionals aren't exactly falling from the sky in our bustling metropolis, so naturally I jumped at the opportunity. Now to get off this 11am wakeup schedule by Monday.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Quick Quotes from Las Vegas

We finally broke down and PURCHASED internet access in our hotel room. What a rip off. Anywho not much to report yet, the show starts today. Here's some great quotes we've heard that should reflect how this trip has been so far:

"Titties all in your face, squirting juices all over the place. Hot sweaty thighs. Mmmm."

"It's a toe-touching good time!"

More later...hopefully.

All Good Things....

...cost alot of money. Like Apple's new iphone or apple tv. But I'll let my friend Tim rant about that.

I'm sitting in the Las Vegas Airport waiting for my 6:30am flight to Salt Lake City and figured I'd search for some free wifi. I'm in luck. I've spent over 30 bucks this trip on internet access alone. Like I said...all good things.

I have to admit, there wasn't really anything innovative at CES this year. Just bigger and better than last year's models. It was still a blast though. Josh and I were fortunate enough to watch a live Buzz Out Loud show at the CNET booth. I think I saw Hahn Choi of Indigital. Oh yes, and all the stress balls, lanyards and logo pens one could ever want.

I didn't take any pictures. I figured it a waste of time and resources as Josh carted his Nikon D70 around just about everywhere we went. I'm sure he'll be posting his shots to his flickr account very soon.

Ok, time to fold up and head to Utah for a few hours. I should be in Lewiston by Noon. If you feel the urge you can always come welcome me home.

An Apple a Day...

So I'm bad with money. Just thought I'd share that little tidbit of info with you both. I've been on the prowl for some non-crappified personal finance software these past few days. I've looked at M$ Money, Quicken, blah blah blah. I actually settled on a mac only program called iBank. The most important reason I settled on iBank is the support for crappy banks, like Potlatch. My bank's online services are ancient at best. They only let you download your bank transactions in a few proprietary formats. iBank handles all of those types. Also, iBank just looks sexy, and at forty bucks, I couldn't go wrong.

I guess I've just been in a mac mood lately. I moved the Mrs. and My entire music collections over to the old power mac in hopes of setting up an itunes server. I'll admit, I should have done some research before moving all 74 gigabytes to the mac. FYI itunes servers suck, more on that later....maybe. Now all I need is a sexy black macbook and a new haircut and I'd be the second biggest fanboi ever!

mac, ibank, itunes, finance, money

Heya,
Sorry for the long pause. I've been busy with blah blah blah. What have I been up to? Well...a lot. The Mrs. graduated from LCSC, I watched probably 15 of the 18 games during the 2007 NAIA World Series and now I'm watching Man vs. Wild while lying in bed blogging on Marci's new macbook.

The Mrs. and I are planning a little vacation to Seattle in early August. If anyone has some suggestions on fun things we can do while we are there, that'd be sweet. Bed time. Later.

Tonight was the final episode of my, my girfriend and Josh's, favorite TV show, The Sopranos. I have to admit, I'm extremely saddened that Tony, Carmela, Meadow and Anthony Jr. won't be back for more Italian Mafia goodness. But I know everything has an end. For those of you who haven't watched the final episode yet, I won't spoil it for you. I will say this though, the ending has something for everyone.

The Mrs. and I decided to make an event of the final episode. We invited all our fellow die hard Soprano's friends, and a few not so die hard to come and enjoy the show with us. The Mrs. even cooked an authentic Italian meal complete with spaghetti, garlic bread and Spumoni ice cream. Josh was kind enough to bring some fresh mozarella and assorted Italian meats, including my new favorite sliced meat capicola. Good Times.

Good bye Tony. You were always good to me.

I rented a few video games for my Nintendo Wii this weekend. Wario Ware: Smooth Moves and Rayman Raving Rabbids. Both games are a ton of fun.

Rayman has to be the most fun I've had playing a video game in a long time. Josh can back that up too. We spent the greater part of today playing the hundreds of mini games that make up Rayman Raving Rabbids. Here's a video of some game footage.

The Nintendo Wii has really changed the gaming console. So much that now anyone can pick up a wii-mote and be guaranteed a good time.
