So, I won Ben Hailstone's Valentines Day contest and a free beta invite to Virb.

What is Virb, you ask? Well, their website doesn't give you much information, but from all I could read about it, it's an ad-free "social networking website" that allows friends to "connect over the internet and share pictures, videos, messages, and the list goes on."

Also, they run all photos/videos/multimedia content of any kind put on the Virb server through a filter that omits all explicit content.

Sounds a lot like a glorified MySpace, right? Communicate with friends and whatnot, but I'm protected from pornographic pop-ups and whatever else may lurk up on the top banner of the home page.

Well, this sounded like a cool thing, since I had wanted to sign up for a MySpacey-kind-of-thing but shuttered at the thought of talking to my friends on the same servers (MySpace) that were promoting mass immorality and such.

So, I signed up and tweaked my homepage. Uploaded some photos. Did a blog post. Looked for friends. Looked for friends. Looked for friends. Did I mention I looked for friends?

The only problem with this Virb thing is that only like 15 people use it and everybody that would use it are waiting on the outside for one of the super-way-too-exclusive invites.

So, I'm giving away some Virb invites. First 5 people to comment or email me (godsgofer@gmail.com) get an invitation. Maybe together we can be friends in this hostile world of password-protected social atmospheres.
