What's in a name? In the case of Jaden South: quite a lot. It may be apparent that Deborah De Loach and Jessica Draper are proud of their Southern roots, but there's more to these two than just geography.
The duo is a stellar and fresh find with strong and deep-rooted musical direction. With a sweeping spectrum of influences, Jaden South's music is their modern take on the classic rock and singer-songwriters they grew up loving, as well as the influence of their formative years in the South. While certainly swayed by the styles of some modern performers and songwriters, the rich influence of luminaries like Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell, Heart, Neil Young and Jackson Browne brands Jaden South's sound as decidedly retro.
Jessica, who grew up in Alabama, and Deborah, from both Florida and Arkansas, began collaborating several years ago in Nashville. In college, the two quickly became friends upon realizing their mutual interests in eclectic music and songwriting. Soon, as best friends and roommates, they began collaborating musically and decided to form Jaden South. An amalgamation of qualities including classical training, raw, natural sense for musical craftsmanship and seasoned performance experience, make this partnership a truly dynamic collaboration.
In 2005, Deborah and Jessica headed to New York City, where their versatile abilities rapidly became recognized. Shows at heralded venues such as The Living Room and a residency at Greenwich Village's famed Kenny's Castaways helped establish the two and their band as a successful and growing talents in the NYC music scene. In early 2008, the duo relocated back to Nashville to begin work on their full-length debut album, expected mid-summer. To be co-produced and mixed by Grammy-winner David Leonard, the LP will highlight the roots-rock sound that defines the group.
Through live shows and word-of-mouth, Jaden South is earning respect from musician peers and fans alike who are drawn to these engaging artists and their music. In short, the potent creative chemistry between these two is unmistakable.

Gagosian Liga says:
"We all admire the spangled acrobat with classical grace meticulously walking his tight rope in the talcum light; but how much rarer art there is in the sagging rope expert wearing scarecrow clothes and impersonating a grotesque drunk! I should know." (Vladimir Nabokov) Thank you for your friendship! Musical greetings from Munich/Germany! Feel free to download my music!
