Near-Life Experience

Nestled in the neighborhood of Old Irving Park in Chicago is the messy studio of a buried treasure that slowly, is becoming unearthed. Underneath headphones and tangled wires, I compose experimental, ambient pop soundscapes, splicing them with distorted noise rock, and then reinterpreting them for an inventive yet accessible melody-driven backdrop. The heart-on-sleeve sincerity is pierced with fierce dynamics, telling simple truths with a single voice and one man's instruments. God that sounds pretentious. I have composed scores for films, won awards of achievement in the fine arts, and had the honor of playing the sold-out Jeff Buckley Tribute Concert at Uncommon Ground in 2005. In 1996, I contracted a life-threatening bacterial infection called Blastomycosis which left him in the hospital for over two months. I overcame the illness and became determined to acquire a sense of "self-evolution" ever since.
