Dark Knight Last Night

last night (this morning) I attended the midnight premier of Dark Knight. and. it. was. INCREDIBLE! it was everything that i had hoped for and more. AND... i get to see it again. for free. on the house! a girl had a seizure in the middle of the movie. it was quite a commotion. the entire ordeal, from her falling to the ground to her walking out of the theater (assisted by paramedics), was about 10 minutes of wasted film and an additional 20 of sitting and waiting and chatting and staring. at a blank screen. and then return ticket vouchers in my hand.

Heath Ledger's performance was flawless. Every moment that he was on screen he captivated my complete attention. the scene where he's hanging out the window of the speeding cop car, (it's in the teaser trailer), it gave me chills! His character was one of the most truly terrifying villains I have ever seen.

the sub plots throughout the movie are creative and original. there's not a single scene in the film that I thought was unnecessary or slightly boring or cheesy. the ENTIRE 2 and a half hours was thrilling. I've never audibly gasped and let out so many 'oh my god!' 's in a theater before. the special effects are seamless ESPECIALLY a certain villains mangled face. ...no not joker's. although his features were impeccable, even in close-ups... I almost threw up in my mouth a little when this other character's disfigurement was revealed. for real.

can't wait to see it in IMAX!
