Earlier this week my thoughts were on suffering. Today they are on brokenness. I feel surrounded from all sides with brokenness. Broken cars, broken people, broken hearts, etc. My immediate response is to look for the quick fix. But, I don't think that is the most appropriate response. I can think of several verses that speak of brokenness, one being... "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise." Psalm 51:17

I think being broken puts us in a place of total dependence on God. We must trust God financially. We must trust Him for healing and forgiveness. It can only come from Him and not ourselves. The state of brokenness does not feel good...at all...but, really it's the best place to be.
