this is an installation called "erotic robot" that was part of a gallery in chicago. it was done by my friend, rosemary barria. it was my first experience creating music to go along with the feel and motion of moving picture. it was a wonderful experience. there are 3 parts, so make sure you watch all 3. you must imagine that you have to be on your knees watching this on a small flat screen cut into the belly of a mannequin, with the wires for the headphones comming out of the nipple of the right breast. an awesome experience indeed. it received a lot of praise. after the gallery opening. upon transferring this from our only dvd, there is a part in the 3rd section of the installation that seems to glitch out. it was not intentional, so please don't think that neither the videographer nor i have a sense of rhythm. hope you enjoy!

okay, so i'll be going to washington and oregon next week. any of my pals on here who are from either state (especially in the seattle or portland areas), give me some cool ideas of things to do. we'll be in portland on the 24th and 25th. then in George, WA for the Sasquatch Music Festival on the 26th and 27th. grindhouse

so i saw grindhouse last night. man! i was pretty certain i would enjoy both films and the fake trailers, but it exceeded my expectations. altogether it had everything i love. horror, gore, excessive violence, explosions, high speed cars, hot girls, cheesy catch phrases, extreme over-acting, awesome music... completely over the top. it inspired me!

For those of you who don't already know, I worked on a film score recently with my friends Bob and Randy. It's a short film called World Builder by digital effects genius Bruce Branit (Spawn, Sin City, King Kong, Ghost Rider and plenty more http://imdb.com/name/nm0105111/). Randy did all the strings, vibes, piano, and other organic/orchestral sounds. Bob did some brilliant sound-design work. I programmed the electronic drums, synthesizers, and other such noises. The video you see, of course, is a very compressed version of the film. It will be playing at various film festivals over the next few months, so i'll try to keep folks posted about that.
