So, I got the call on Wednesday, and I officially have a new place to live. I was worried about finding a place in my price range that I actually wanted to live in, but was surprised to find a number of places fitting both descriptions in Southside. I narrowed my options down to two, and was accepted at my first choice.
So, at the first of next month, I will move into a small studio apartment in the same building as Jerry and Lori (though thankfully not in the apartment directly underneath the happy newlyweds). I will be near a nice park, a laundromat, and a hip-looking Latin-American cafe.
My first impression of the studio apartment was that it was too small. My second and third impressions were that my first impression was accurate and the one bedroom apartments were more to my taste. My sister convinced me that based upon my lifestyle (I don't "entertain" much and like efficiency in living) and the amount of stuff I will be taking (a bed, a dining room table, a love seat, a few bookcases...that's about it) that the studio would be the best choice. It was also $80 a month cheaper.
I have the following items on my @projects list and have to complete them in the next two weeks:
And that's just the stuff I can think of off the top of my head, and does not include small matters like packing. I am sure there are things I am forgetting about that will likely strike me violently just as I am about to go to sleep. They will nag and insist I get up and write them down, before I forget.
So, who wants to help me move?
