Have you ever had a good opportunity come to you, and then you did the math, finding out that it would be a wash?

My super kind brother-in-law had a job opening at his work, and gave me the inside lead. I got more info. It was part time, $9/hr, and a 70 mile round trip.

Unfortunately:

9 x 5 = $45 about how much I'd make a day
70 x .55 = $38.50 about how much it would cost to drive out there and back a day (plus wear & tear, etc.)
$45 - $38.50 = $6.50 before taxes - about how much lunch would cost

Oh well. I've still got great reviews from family and friends on their custom orders (PickwickPortfolio.Etsy.com). We'll see what comes of it.
