Ses parents l'ont appelé Jean-Christophe en référence au roman de Romain Rolland qui raconte l'histoire d'un enfant d'origine modeste qui devient un grand pianiste. Lui, c'est la guitare ! Il a étudié la musique à l'université de Rouen, dont il est diplômé de Musicologie, et à l'Ecole Nationale de Musique de Dieppe où il a appris la composition et l'électroacoustique. Eclectique dans l'âme, touche-à-tout forcené, il marie les styles dans un métissage improbable : musiques classique, celtique, blues, électronique... C'est un amoureux du son, en quête de la pureté absolue, de la simplicité cristalline qui donne à sa musique une force et une transparence propres à transporter l'âme. Born in France in 1961, Jean-Christophe comes from a family of musicians. His parents took his name from Romain Rolland's character, a child from a modest family background who becomes a famous pianist. In his case it's the guitar rather than the piano! He studied music at the University of Rouen and graduated in Musicology. He also studied Composing and Electro-acoustics at the National Music School of Dieppe. Eclectic at heart, dabbling in everything, he mixes styles in an unlikely cross-breeding: Classical music, Celtic, Blues, Pop, Electro-acoustics...
