a few things on my mind.

this came up on my homepage.

http://apnews.myway.com//article/20070801/D8QO8U8O0.html

i thought it was funny because he never says anything definite. oh well.

yesterday while driving i was listening air1, a christian radio station, then all of a sudden "home" by Daughtry came on. first i checked to make sure that i was indeed listening to air1. and i was. then i thought "this isn't a christian song. for that matter chris daughtry isn't even a christian. so why is this song on christian radio?" now if chris daughtry is a christian, then sure i can see why air1 would play him on their radio station. they play other popular crossover bands or bands that are christians but not a christian band such as the fray, lifehouse, and others. but why is air1, and other christian radio stations for that matter, playing a songs that aren't christian, by a bands that aren't christian, and the members of the bands aren't even christians? is there not enough good christian music out there for them to play? now i am not saying that secular music is bad. i listen to secular music a lot. but when a radio station says that it is a christian station, i expect them to only play christian music or music by christians. just like i expect a christian bookstore to only sell christian books. maybe this is narrow minded but that is how i think. frustrates me because there is so much good music by christian people who may not be in a christian band, but their music can edify a believer. Dustin Kensrue is one of those people. in his solo work and with thrice the songs are about christian themes and dealing with heavy issues from a christian perspective. another is sufjan stevens. man his music is so beautiful and all of his songs are about christian themes and he even covers hymns. i mean come on! hymns man! how rad is that! and do you hear them on christian radio? nope. but i think that this speaks to the state of christian music today. that if you sing about God once on your cd, and even if you don't we can play you on our christian radio station.
