This Christmas, blogger Dolin Bliss attended a RL Midcentury Supper Club holiday party. Here's a photo from the potluck-style dinner; it's grainy, but you can see that the food palette is all oranges, greens, and yellows. The food looks happy, kitschy, festively repugnant.
I really want to attend one of these. I can whip up a mean Chicken a la King. It's my favorite Midcentury entree, because the outcome is all grey-green and specked with bright red pimento peppers, and yummy. Incidentally, Chicken a la King holds the dubious honor of being the only dish that can be made entirely from canned products.
