So now that the Passion World Tour is done, we will begin work on the Coffee Table Photography Book due to release next spring. Louie Giglio will be writing the book and it will feature all the photography that I shot at the Passion Events and in the cities. The book will be photo heavy and text light. Oh yeah, the name of the book will be "Awakening".
Obviously this is something I'm very excited about working on. I've put my heart, soul and time into this tour and am so honored to have been a part of such an amazing journey. I've been blown away by everything.. the kids we've met along the way, the different cultures we've been a part of, the family I've developed with the Passion team, etc.. I could go on and on. If there's one striking thought that hits me after seeing so much it's that we're all the same. No matter what race, background, gender, financial status, etc.. we all want to love and to be loved. That sounds cheesy but it's so true. I never experienced the culture dividing borders that we see or read about on the news. Every where we went people just welcomed us with open arms. Even outside the realms of the Passion events my assistant and I would go out into the cities by ourselves and were welcomed by all cultures.
This has been a huge chapter of my life and I'm pumped to be able to wrap it up in one big coffee table book. The book will showcase not only the Passion events, the Passion Bands (Chris Tomlin, David Crowder Band, Charlie Hall, Matt Redman, etc) but will also show in detail the vibe of each city.. aka the poverty, the wealth, the markets, the faces, the skylines, the details, the frustration, the loss and the hope.
To sum up the grand scale of what we're trying showcase with the book, I thought I would list some statistics for you to get an idea...
17 Major World Cities
17 Passion Events
6 Continents
9 Weeks of Traveling
100,000 University Students around the World
18,928 Photos taken by me with an average of 1,113 photos per city
You get the idea. This book will be a massive undertaking for us. We've already begun work on the cover and will start promoting it soon.
I can't wait to share this with you.
