Hey dude... You need to check out this podcast. Go into itunes and seach for "Radio Lab" and download the one titled, "Music." It's dated: 9/24/07. It's incredible. They go into detail analyzing what exactly music is. They talk theory and talk about tonal languages and what the difference between talking and music is. They strip is down to it's absolute core elements and it's insane. You really really really need to check this out. It's mind boggling.
