Jeremy Goble grew up immersed in the music he was raised around in Austin, Texas. His passion for music was first apparent in home videos of Jeremy when he was two years old playing a toy guitar along with music videos. Ten years later, when he was twelve years old, Jeremy was drawn to his grandpa’s beat up old acoustic guitar. From that day on Jeremy has played guitar every day possible studying a diversity of styles like rock, blues, experimental, acoustic, country, metal, folk, indie, slide and more. He also spends time playing piano, bass guitar, drums, dulcimer, lap-steel and any other instrument he can get his hands on. Jeremy’s music has been influenced by artists like Led Zeppelin, Incubus, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, The Shins, The Beatles, Dave Matthew’s, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Eric Johnson to name a few.
Jeremy soon began writing and recording his own songs in his humble home studio in Austin, Texas. Around that time he began taking music and guitar lessons from a good friend with forty years performing and songwriting experience named Tom Music. He later began taking lessons with former Jimmy LaFave guitarist and now front man of “Larry Wilson and the Blue City Knights,” Larry Wilson who he learned a great deal about playing the blues, country and rock from. Jeremy played in several bands throughout high school, all the while jamming at home with his brother who played the drums. During that time he played several gigs around his hometown of Lake Travis at places such as Johnny Finn's (then called Sam Hill) and Carlos 'n Charlie's. These were valuable years for Jeremy's growth as a musician.
After graduating high school, Jeremy moved downtown and enrolled in the Austin Live Music Academy (aka. ALMA) at the University of Texas, where he takes classes in songwriting with Austin musician Will Sexton, recording with Grammy award winner Fred Remmert at Cedar Creek Recording studios (worked with artists such as the Dixie Chicks, Robert Earl Keen, Patty Griffin, Jimmy LaFave, Stevie Ray Vaughan and more) and Sam Seifert (Alseep at the Wheel) at Bismeaux Studios, music theory with James Fidlon, and music business with Stephen Summer. Jeremy also gives weekly guitar lessons. Jeremy’s most recent gigs have been at “The Dirty Dog” bar on Austin’s famous 6th street, “Maxine’s” in Bastrop with Larry Wilson and the Blue City Knights, “Roadhouse Rags”, “Fion Wine Pub” with singer/songwriter Meggan Carney, and various open mics around Austin playing original instrumentals. Future shows will be listed here on MySpace.
Aside from being a songwriter, teacher, guitarist and producer, Jeremy is a true believer in community. His lyrics tell stories of humanity, courage, triumph, joy and sorrow. From organic hard-driving rock with eccentric blues riffs, to lush ambient layers, Jeremy's music is sure to strike a chord with his listeners.
