Traveled Dust:
A passion on display
Is but a fashion for this day.
Happy are the looks of wonder,
Coming up from crowded slumber.
And the boys will sing like men -
Of women's touch and apple lust -
And the men will long like boys -
Of mother's touch and apple crust.
Oh, say we, a joyous day.
Neh, say they, a frightful way.
But the lights do wane
For the nights do stay.
And the pavement calls yet again,
For the pained lament we pretend.
And the road doth call yet again,
For our feet to travel this road of dust.
Untitled:
I dared to dream a dream of dust.
This dream of dust was left to lust,
And my lust did wane amongst the rest.
It was, however, the rest which faded -
Faded, the rest did go.
Like a slow death or gentle breeze,
The rest did go.
Upon the hill, in the light, the rest did go.
Now I am left with this dream of dust.
Remember, the dream which was left to lust?
Which left my lust amongst the rest?
Now I dare not to dream again.

Atop the gilded idol was an image of a woman. I was neither young enough nor sober enough to really care, but there was something in the way she held her head. I was, at that point, about to throw up.

howdy! being a grown up is pokey, so far. as is the job hunt. still waiting to hear back from some places, as well as looking for more. looking for a job makes it hard to enjoy summer properly! sounds like you're having a fabulous summer though!

yup.. Sea cucumbers are nearly the most essential thing to a story, aside from a plot. Though, you could probably come up with an awesome plotless sea cucumber story and it would still be grade A material. ALSO: Peace Corps? That''s rather impressive, though I'd say do Greenpeace with me and we can save the world with my future husband- Al Gore.

In an attempt to force you to create more and in an attempt to relieve my brain from making up such terrible plots to your story intros and endings, it would be more than lovely for one like yourself to clue me in on how they should go. Because, well, you should have some relative idea and all my plots result in dealing with sea cucumbers.

Hey. My mom's been keeping me up to date on the crazy weather there in Iowa? Has it been effecting Ames at all?

I'm doing good. Tulip Time is over with here in Holland and all the tourists have left! What concerts are you planning to go to? Anathallo is playing in their hometown, Mt. Pleasant, MI, in July and Radiohead is playing in Chicago for Lollapalooza and in Indianapolis. Plus, there's Pitchfork Media Festival in June which I would love to go to because it's cheaper then Lolla. and the music is going to to pretty rad. Unfortunately, I was not able to see Half-Handed Cloud. One of my friends had entered a film contest for this 24-hour film festival and so I went there to support him. I hope to see the band sometime in my lifetime. :) I hope you're having a fabulous week!
