Here we are just after Israel proposed :).

I stumbled on this church in my explorations. It was the church that my new friend Israel went to as a child. I took this photo having no idea that he'd ever seen it before so that I could show him.

This sunflower was growing in the corner of a lot next to a grocery and an old church. It reminded me of PBS specials where kids got together and grew an inner-city garden.

Graffiti is common in this area and almost seems like an artform all it's own - something rebellious that doesn't belong, but fits in the landscape.

I was inspired by people's propensity to have elaborate and beautiful gardens outside dilapidated homes that they could not necessarily afford to rennovate. It reminds me of the serentiy prayer...

I had to lay on the ground to get this angle. I think Israel thought I was insane, laying on the ground in my best Church dress for the sake of a photo.

I'm terrified of bees - so you know how much I wanted this shot :)
