It's a concept looking at giving people the chance to see those alternative sets that get played in backrooms, secret gigs and after parties and get talked about on forums but don't often see the light of day in main club rooms. Essentially Nu-Frontier is about crossing musical divides and showing that seemingly different underground music scenes like techno and dubstep can gel together, with the aim of guest DJ's and live acts who will come and attract techno purists, dubsteppers, house girls and drum & bass heads alike all to the same dance. Whilst in Oxford, a bulk of my time was spent playing and promoting Drum and Bass. This included playing sets for such nights as Source, Hit & Run, Kinetic and HQ warming up for the likes of Cyantific, Flight (1xtra) and Alley Cat, playing on the same bill as Friction, Dillinja and Q-Project as well as playing for over 3 years on the Scandinavian internet radio station leetradio. Many of these sets were played with my partner in crime at the time DJ Rogue who now has his own radio show on Oxford's 107.9fm Friday nights 1-3am. MC Mantmast myspace page would often take on host duties for our shows and he is now playing across the UK with numerous bookings. I found that through years of being a punter at club nights, my love of house and techno naturally developed further. After having dabbled with playing house when I first moved to Oxford in 2002, I took that direction a lot more seriously over the past few years, mainly due to the surge in exciting underground house and techno. Within months of building up my own sound & style, I found myself getting booked with the legendary Oxford promotion teams Simple and Slide as well as for exciting new nights such as Eclectric (all three of these nights have had full reviews in mixmag) playing warm up sets for the likes of Brodinski and Lee Mortimer. Dubstep has become a major factor in my life for the past few years, with nights like DMZ in Brixton and Superdubpressure in Brighton cementing my passion for such a burgeoning and fresh music scene. Taking over where drum & bass left off I've taken to mixing beats across all spectrum's of the scene (check the 'Halloween Filth' and 'Evening with Torque' mixes) and have run my own dubstep night for the Love Music Hate Racism organization. With my roots in mid-nineties hip hop I've also played sets alongside the likes of Ghost & Kashmere, Stig of The Dump and Blufoot.
