Lyrics

She wears the locket and a black dress
This picture was taken in the late 18oo's

Now somewhere west of West of Plymouth
Her blood is running through me
The voice of a hundred ages
In unison with mine

I look at her face and
It bears a strange resemblance
I read the words she left behind

She wanted to be a concert singer
She gave it all up to take care of her mother
Now she can sing through me

Her mother was crying
She said "Molly don't leave me, baby please don't go.
Everything I have will be yours someday"

But the Civil War came knock, knockin
All the walls all around her started falling
And this picture is of her standing in the ruins

Now she can sing through me.
"When love is kind, cheerful and free
Love's sure to find welcome from me"

Now somewhere west of West of Plymouth
Her blood is running through me
The voice of a hundred ages
In unison with mine
