Have you ever used a web-based translator and wondered at it’s sublime poetry?Or even it’s terrible translations? These exercies in Cut-up writing were inspired by Matt Freidberger and the song, Automatic Husband.

I took random phrases from non-english blogs and ran them through Google translate into english. I them searched Google image search on topics related to the quotes and created compositions from all the bits.

I liked the output from this but it’s really about technique. Below is a clip from the David Bowie documentary, Cracked Actor. Bowie is using a cut-up technique to produce some lyrics. I love that scene.
